Crock Pot Macaroni and Cheese

After acquiring a Crock Pot this Christmas I have been on a continual search for recipes for it. Pinterest has been a great site for links to recipes and ideas for not only Crock Pots, but all areas of the kitchen as well. Recently I was looking for a recipe for home cooked macaroni and cheese that was relatively simple when I came across this one on Pinterest.

The ingredients you will need for this recipe will be:

  • 8 oz. of shell macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheese of your choice
  • 1 cup evaporated┬ánonfat milk
  • 1/2 cup skim milk
  • 4 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

First you will need to cook the macaroni- this takes 6-8 minutes in boiling water. While macaroni is cooking grease the inside of your slower cooker with butter. After the macaroni is finished combine all ingredients in slow cooker and stir. Then let your macaroni and cheese cook on low for 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours, I found 3 hours was more than enough time in the slower cooker.

This is recipe turns out great macaroni and cheese that is fairly low maintenance in the form of recipes. Total cost of ingredients can be done in $20 dollars or left depending on what you already have.

Great comfort food for a cold day, so sit back relax and enjoy some warm macaroni and cheese!
